The Medical Assisting Program is an accredited 1,300 hour program which CTAE has offered for over 17 years employing many Medical Assistants throughout our area. The program is designed to prepare competent entry-level medical assistants and meets the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Standards and Guidelines. The program combines lecture, in classroom hands-on skills practice, and a mandatory 200 hour externship in local physician offices and clinics. Upon successful completion of the program students are eligible to take a National Certification Examination that is required for employment in this field. The Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAAERB).
